Biography

I'm Brooke, and I'm an 18 year old photographer. I first developed an interest in photography when I was around 12 years old. I try to implement my photography into everything that I do, and so far have created an Australian Nature calendar, promotional brochure and magazine article using my own photography, among many other projects. I've recently completed my senior year of schooling and am currently employed as a desktop publisher. My photographic experience is mainly in nature photography, but I am looking to experiment more with portraiture. I don't consider myself a professional photographer as I really only pursue photography in my spare time.

I shoot with a Canon 350D (that's a Rebel XT for you Americans), two kit lenses (18-55mm 3.5-5.6f and 75-300mm 4-5.6f) and a 50mm 1.8f lens.

Education

I completed grade 12 last year, and was the highest achieving Indigenous year 12 student in my state for that year, with a Tertiary Entrance Ranking (that's Australia's equivalent of the American SAT) score of 93.3/100. I have gained most of my photography and Adobe Photoshop editing skills through my own practise, trial and error. I've taken one basic photography class in high school, and have no university qualifications. I believe that if you've got artistic talent, then you've got it. Nobody can give you talent or teach you how to be talented.
